Why a Hobie inflatable? Hobie inflatable Kayaks are the perfect solution for your holiday adventures. Small when folded for storage in their own wheeled suitcase there is no need to check whether your chosen accommodation has any secure storage - it can even live in your vehicle*. They are very stable and give even the first time “paddler” the confidence to explore, and the experienced paddler more options... and the exploring is superb. Hobie kayaks are propelled using a unique, fully adjustable, pedal system – paddles are not required** but supplied – leaving your hands free for photography, fishing or just relaxing as your naturally much stronger legs do the work for you allowing you to go further and with less effort to get the most out of your experience.

Spectacular Sooke...
Sooke is located on the south western tip of Vancouver Island a scenic half hour drive from BC's capital city Victoria. West Coast Outdoor Adventure Rentals is located in the heart of Sooke, 200m from the shopping core and 100m from Rotary pier, Boardwalk and waters edge. As a part of a temperate rainforest, the Sooke district has one of the mildest climates in Canada. This pleasant climate can be enjoyed while hiking, biking, or horseback riding on some of the local trails, or kayaking or sailing in the local waters of Sooke Basin and beyond. The area is world famous for its marine ecology. Nestled in protective waters it is a diving wonderland, and sports fishers come to enjoy the natural beauty of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
The Sooke area is a kayaking paradise! You will find a wealth of discoveries within the sheltered Harbour and Basin area. There the are many hidden coves and beaches not accessible to land lubbers around its 25+km circumference. Although you probably won’t see any bears or cougars (but not unheard of) within the Harbour and Basin, with no paddles** to alarm the wildlife you are able to silently sneak up on deer, seals or otters, perched eagles, cormorants, owls and other birds. Depending on the time of year there is salmon and other fish and crabs to catch. (licences required – ask for details)
Spend the day just cruising one the vehicle accessible lakes in the area, from Kemp to Cowichan - there is a destination waiting for you explore. Pick up a couple of Hobie inflatable singles or a tandem, we'll give you a demonstration here before you go, pack your car, truck or camper along with a picnic, your camera or fishing gear and head out for a day on the water.
How about a bicycle and trailer? - then load up a Hobie I9 and head off into the woods to mountain lakes – where chances are you will be the only boat on the water – and who knows, maybe the first for many years!

With an extensive private marina, dock and slip, you can roll into the water with ease, whereupon the resident harbour seals will greet you and get your adventure off to an inspiring start. Upon your return why not relax with a coffee from the coffee bar and take in the spectacular scenery out across the water and just reflect on what is... spectacular Sooke, BC.
